Cliffe Football Club (2nd) vs. Howden Amateurs Res. (A) 4th September 08

HT: 1-2
FT: 2-4 L

Cliffe’s second team travelled to Howden Amatuers to face their reserves on Thursday evening.
Malcolm Bryce writes…

Cliffe fell behind early through a free header and went 2-nil down before Darren Batey scored for 2-1.
2-1 was the score at half time.

Cliffe started the second period the better but Howden managed to score argubly against the run of play to put Cliffe 3-1 down. A scrambled Heron goal meant Cliffe had a chance at 3-2 but this was short lived when a forth Howden goal cemented the win for the home side.

A bad week for Cliffe saw them, as a Club, lose three friendlies in-a-row. With the second team losing to Thorpe Utd Vets last Thursday, the first team losing to Thorpe Utd first team on Tuesday and this defeat to Howden.

UPDATE: This losing streak ended on Saturday with the emphatic 7-2 win over Selby RSSC. Full Selby RSSC Report Here
