Cliffe Reserves recorded their 3rd straight clean sheet in another hard-fought victory against a strong Huby side
Gary Wilson writes…

The game started evenly with both sides unable to create any clear chances for the first half hour. Huby nearly scored when a corner was flicked on at the near post only for Cliffe ‘keeper Gary Wilson to save from beneath the crossbar. Within minutes Cliffe had taken the lead when a Marc brown cross was headed in by Aaron Tiplady. Just before half-time Huby almost equalised when they hit the post following a defensive error.

HT: 1-0

Both teams started the second half well with many chances, but it was once again Cliffe who scored when Nathan Horner went on a mazy run from defence and put Baz Summers in to score with a low drive.

Huby upped their game and created chances which they were unable to convert.

Substitute Matt Jevons made a nuisance of himself in the closing minutes and almost scored when put through by Tiplady.

Five minutes from the end man-of-the-match Aaron Tiplady made the game secure when he fired a fierce shot into the bottom corner from 25 yards.

FT: 3-0
