B&P Sports Selby Cup
HT: 0-4
FT: Cliffe FC 0 – 7 Goole Utd

Cliffe FC were well beaten by a well organised Goole United team via a 7-0 scoreline, which surely sees Goole United favourites to capture the B&P Sports Selby Cup.
Malcolm Bryce writes…

Goole shot out of the blocks early on and opened scoring within the first 60 seconds. Goole extended their lead via a penalty kick for 0-2 and raced into a 0-4 lead before half-time. Cliffe’s best chance saw Kev Taylor have a shot blocked on the line by two Goole defenders, HT.

Cliffe looked much improved in the opening exchanges of the second half but Goole’s depth on the day compared to Cliffe’s was weighted against the Selby side, as Keith Tiplady had to make at least eight changes from last week’s squad that faced Collingham. Goole finished the game off with a flurry of three goals in the final quarter of the game to make the final score 0-7, FT.
