Thomas Cammack Memorial Trophy
FT: Cliffe FC 2 – 3 4 Armoured Engineer Squadron of the 21st Royal Engineers
Royal Engineers complete a second half comeback to win the Thomas Cammack Memorial Trophy, a last minute penalty deciding the charity match in it’s competitive nature played in good spirits.
Cliffe FC took an early 2-0 lead, a superb Lee Carter chip over the ‘keeper nestling in at the far post to open scoring and Ryan Sutherland made the score 2-0 with a powerful shot inside the box. Half-time read 2-1 after a close range effort from Sapper Anderton, HT.
Sapper Stowells made it all-square at 2-2 with a nice finish from the edge of the box. A last minute penalty was awarded and converted by Corporal Pickersgill to give the Royal Engineers the win, 2-3 FT.
