In what’s become an annual friendly every pre-season, Cliffe FC and Howden AFC faced off on Tuesday and Wednesday evening.

Tuesday – Cliffe FC Reserves 4 – 5 Howden AFC
It was goals galore on Tuesday evening as Howden edged a 9-goal-thriller. Cliffe’s goalscorers on the evening were Harri Summerscales, Andy Edwards, and A Trialist scored a brace.
Whilst finishing on the wrong side of the scoreline, Cliffe FC Reserves Manager David Hebson was pleased with the performance in their opening friendly against a strong Howden side.

Wednesday – Cliffe FC XI 7 – 0 Howden AFC XI
Having lead 1-0 at the half-time break, a late flurry of goals saw Cliffe FC beat Howden 7-0. Cliffe’s goals were scored by Kevin Taylor, Sean Gallagher, B Trailist scored a brace, and C Trailist bagged a hat-trick to complete the scoring.

Cliffe FC are back in friendly match action next weekend;
Saturday 1st August;
Cliffe FC vs. Swinefleet (1pm KO) | Cliffe FC Reserves vs. Riccall United Reserves (3pm KO)
Sunday 2nd August;
Cliffe FC Sunday vs. Hessle Rangers (11:30am KO)
The trio of friendlies all take place at Oxen Lane, Cliffe.
